Stuck on Quick Check Before Upgrading

Hi guys, I am trying to upgrade my brother's computer to Windows 10, but its been stuck on "Doing a quick check before you can schedule your upgrade" for about 20 minutes now. He has a HP tower with a Core 2 Quad, 6 GB of RAM, and some low profile Radeon card, and he's currently on Windows 7.

Main PC: i5 4590 @ 3.5 GHz ♦ RX 480 Armor OC ♦ 16 GB DDR3 ♦ GA-Z97-HD3 ♦ 120 GB 840 EVO ♦ 120 GB Intel 520 ♦ W10 Home

Scrapyard PC: Xeon X5460 @ 3.8 GHz ♦ HD 7870 ♦ 8 GB DDR2 ♦ GA-P35-DS3L ♦ 80 GB Intel 320 ♦ 160 GB WD Caviar SE ♦ W10 Home

There could be a problem with compatibility. If you're feeling dangerous, you can get the upgrade using this tool: www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

It meets all of the system requirements though, and I have over 250 GB free.

Yeah

Okay, let it sit for 45 minutes. If it still hasn't progressed, download this from Microsoft. Once it's opened choose 'upgrade this PC now' and then make sure it says 'keep all my files and apps'
