S5 Warranty Questions (Rooting)

8enjicraf2

Hey Guys,

I have had my GS5 for about a year now and I want to root but I am scared I will brick it. I had a GS3 that I bricked but that was the first one I tried rooting. Recently I have rooted a galaxy ace, tab 2 and an xperia s fine. If I brick it can I take it to samsung? Thanks. Sorry for the crap wording, I'm 13 :P

No because they can see that you rooted it and triggered the KNOX system and bootloader.

Rooting is at your own risk.

Follow a guide to root it on XDA Developers.  Rooting will void the warranty but it's not yours until you void the warranty.  Some carriers also lock the devices to you can't root them, make sure you check that too.

Hard brick or soft brick?

You could take it to Samsung, but if they decide that you voided the warranty they could fix your device at a cost, I think.

Hard bricked, I would be fine if I could access recovery.
