Gaming Hackintosh PC build help?

Go to solution Solved by ClownFace1511,

So do you think this would work? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GGpVK8

I had a quick browse of the internet and found some people using that motherboard for hackintoshes. The only thing that I see could be a problem is getting the drivers for the motherboard wifi, you may have to download drivers on a usb and then plug that in for anything to work. People have been using multibeast to install drivers so you could try that out. here are the links i came across, maybe reading them could help you out a bit. goodluck though.

So I'm trying to convince my brother to build a PC, but I think the only way I will be able to convince him is if the PC is a hackintosh because he likes the programs OS X has to offer. He wants to spend around 1200$ and he wants to play games like Witcher 3. Any suggestions?

I don't think Witcher 3 is on Mac.

He wants to be able to switch into Windows and OS X. Windows for gaming, OS X for editing.

If he wants to switch to windows for gaming you can run 2 hardrives (or one, separate is better) and have mac on one and win on the other, or you can bootcamp the mac but having an os on each drive is better.

So, besides the hard drives, the hardware in the PC wouldn't effect OS X?

If you get compatible hardware for mac osx then that hardware will work on windows easily.

Like what the others said: Use Bootcamp and install Windows.

I'm curious, what does your brother use to edit? Adobe apps are better than Mac apps imo. I'm a photographer and I prefer Lightroom 5 over Aperture (the latter sucking too much power)

i5 4670k | Noctua NH0-U12S | Asus Z97M Plus | Kingston HyperX Fury 8gb | Palit GTX 980 Ti Super Jetstream 6G | Samsung 850 EVO 250gb

WD Caviar Blue 1tb | Seasonic M12II 850W | Fractal Design Define R5 | Dell U3014 1600p 30" 60Hz

Corsair K65 | Razer Orochi | Bose QuietComfort 15 | Creative SBS A350 2.1

Well, he actually does some music production. He prefers Logic Pro X over any other software he's tried. He also has a lot of money that he's spent on OS X only apps, so he doesn't just want to throw that all away.

Ohhh Logic Pro X. Okay, I see his point. Might be nice to invest in a sound card or a dac as part of the rig :) goodluck to both of you!
