Steam is cleverer than it used to be, using a VPN will show you a foreign storefront however you can't actually buy anything, if you try it says your using VPN and refuses the transaction. If your wanting to play a game you shouldn't then it works but Valves SSA specifically says doing so could result in your account being deleted.

Well i would be buying the Code for the game and trying to redeem it as if i am in a foreign country.

that may actually not work. it would be a still foreign code, that wouldnt activate if hes in the wrong country

 

id recommend for games that are region locked like that, use GoG(if its available) or some other DRM free service

If you're buying the code off of a third party and you use a VPN to redeem it, I guess you should be fine

Okay i'm going to buy a cheap game and see if it works. Anyone know a good VPN? Tunnel bear does not tunnel to Russia or any other CIS countries.

I use CyberGhost, and have managed to buy games on Steam using it before. However, that was by mistake, so attempt at your own risk.

Actually with newer game like MGS5 it seems that you need a VPN in order to play the game.

why ban 'em?

swastikas are in them. make a game about ww2 and thow a single swastika in, gets ban/censored. someone who is actually from Germany can give more details.
