If youve got the space then keep it and add another decent one for your main monitor.  use that for secondary stuff (monitoring/videos/etc)

so get another one and add it to my dell?

that is what i'd do, I'm currently running 2 sub par dell monitors and plan on replacing one to a better monitor (1440p or 1080@144hz) and keep using the other for secondary stuff

Forget it if it's not the same resolution and roughly the same size as your new one would be. Things appearing different sizes sucks a little but the mouse moving at different speeds sucks huge hairy balls.

ok so get a new one? if so can you recommend one for me?

If you're looking for a decent budget monitor I'd recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-G246HL-Abd-24-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B0098Y77OG/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1427672514&sr=1-3&keywords=IPS (1080p 24" 60hz TN monitor, good colours, VGA and DVI inputs)

It's pretty thin, looks alright though the plastic used is a bit cheap feeling, colours and brightness are great, stand is sturdy, vesa mount support so you can use your own stand if you want.

I've got one as my main monitor right now, and likely will be getting a 2nd some time down the road, maybe after I get a 1440p 27" monitor to go in the middle :P

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

what's wrong with it.

nothing is wrong with it, looks like a decent monitor.  its 130$ and he said it was 1440p.  that is REALLY cheap for a 1440p and I would take several at that price  :P  but it is 1080 so its still good, but not an amazing deal like it seemed

I have no eye for stuff like viewing angles or color depth myself. I have three BenQ BL2400s. I love them for all the adjustments and the great warranty but they're no gaming displays, I hear. People talk very highly of Asus VS248H-P.

ok can you recommend one to me?

I am not up how my displays enough to recommend any. that Asus that naeaes recommended looks good as does Kdubs.  I'd just make sure to get one that will be replaced if you end up with dead pixel.  Asus rapid replacement does this I think, acer might have something similar

ok so its worth it?

Yeah. At least the reviews on newegg mostly praise it. The lack of height adjustment is a minus for me, even a deal breaker, but the price range will do that. None of them have it. And at least it has the VESA mount so it can be fitted with a height-adjustable stand later on.
