Okay so i just purchased the Valhalla on eBay for a great price but now i have to buy a dac as well and i was planning on buying the modi 2 but am now unsure with that will work and sound fine with an amp that is much nicer and is supposed to be paired with the bitfrost. Before purchasing the modi i just wanted to double check and ensure that it will sound good and work with no problems with used with the Valhalla amp. Thanks a lot everyone!

Well, an amp is supposed to do one thing and one thing only: to amplify the sound from your source CLEANLY without raising the noise floor and NOT add or introduce distortion or any coloration.

A DAC is supposed to do one thing: Turn digital audio into analogue, making it CLEAN and prevent a shitton of EMI.

So, yes, if you bought a Modi/Modi 2 or even an ODAC (standalone DAC), you'd be fine anyways.

Thanks you i just wanted to make sure that there would be any weird sound quality issues since there are both in two very different price brackets. Thanks a lot!
