Hey guys, I was wondering since I am going to buy a Pentium g3258. With this I am thinking that am probably going to overclock it and I saw asrocks h97 anniversary motherboards. I remember seeing a video on the anniversary boards saying they could over clock the pentium but H97 can't from what I have read. Mainly want to know if my knowledge is correct or not or if it can simply be fixed with a bios update. On the same note, is there any updated list of motherboards that can overclock the pentium?

Yes you can overclock on the H97, and even on the H81 boards - you might require a BIOS upgrade though

Its worth checking with the motherboard company that its supported but most Asus, MSI, Asrock, etc boards were updated to support G3258 OCing

I bought my MSI board after seeing it in that list. Sure enough I could OC.

i3-4170, H81 board, 8GB DDR3, Crucial M4, GTX 770, Xigmatek Vangaurd Case, Creative Titanium X-fi, Razer Carcharias, 500w PSU, 24" VA panel and a 42" IPS. Thinking about getting a plant.
