Hey guys,

I am building a computer thats motherboard has a LGA2011 socket and since that is the enthusiast socket/motherboard layout all the CPU's are damn expensive. I have build many computers in the past but this my first really luxurious one. I need some suggestions on a nice CPU that isnt outrageously expensive ($750-800 max). My only concern is if i get a cheaper one then am I missing out on a lot? I am planning to do some pretty heavy overclocking so I just figure I am missing out on a lot of L3 cache.

Also, any advice, suggestions, or comments on the build itself is welcomed. Always looking to improve.

Thanks guys.

(No comments on the keyboard or headphones haha, preference...)

There is no point to getting the 5930k. Just get the 5820k. The only difference is pcie lanes but the decent mobo's support 3 way sli for the 5820k anyways so who cares?

They overclock incidentally.

I wouldn't recommend that mobo personally. Way over priced and not even good at overclocking. See Jayztwocents x99x fatality killer review he talks about how even an 230 dollar asrock board overclocked his identical 5820k AUTOMATICALLY to the same 100% stable overclock with 41 mV less. That's a huge difference.

Gigabyte SOC Champion is a very good board for overclocking on.

I would prefer to not go with that mobo. I am try to keep a black and white theme haha...

So what motherboard would you recommend? Black or white if possible...What about the MSI x99s SLI Krait Edition?

I'd actually recommend the x99s sli plus from msi (or the x99a only difference is usb 3.1). It's one of few x99 boards that supports 3 way sli on 5820k and has exactly the same feature set (minus the isolated audio, but you have a inline amp it looks like so who cares) as the x99 gaming 7 from msi that retails for almost 60 dollars more. It's not the best overclocker in the world either, but you aren't paying an arm and a leg for it anyways so who cares.

Its a pure black board which looks sexy as fuck and if you use black and white fans (which almost everything uses) then you will have plenty of white already.

http://www.pcgamer.com/x99-motherboard-roundup-7-motherboards-reviewed/#page-1 This review put the x99s sli plus as its 'best' motherboard once cost was taken into consideration. It's a good review.

I don't know much about the x99s krait edition but if it has the same features of the sli plus at a similar price go for it.

EDIT: That review I linked is a piece of shit. Sorry. But seriously the sli plus is a great board at an amazing price. Basically every review agrees (for itself, I would look at Tom's hardware review.) And I don't just say that because I own it, but it was why I bought it. Great features at a great price.

Thanks for the reccomendation.

Those GPUs are sick, definitely going with those. As for the CPU I did go ahead and decide to go with the i7 5820k.
