How does Nvidia validate the drivers

Hello guys,

 

I am working at office building and we have old and new PC's and I have noticed that sometimes the recommended driver by Nvidia on their website do not work for some of the OLD GPU's like 6600. So I was wandering how does Nvidia verify the drivers for old Hardware, do they have some old graphics cards or do they just use their supercomputer to simulate them?

Well just like AMD they drop off support of old cards with newer versions you should be able to find legacy drivers on the nvidia site.

Those GPUs are so old there is no point in supporting them. For example take mine, I am currently using 9600GT. It has 64 CUDA cores. New NVidia drivers are cutting it for usage of CUDA in games etc.

 

So how does my 9600GT stack up against 770 (1500 cores) or 780 (2300 cores)? XD

 

Just no point in trying to run newest games (BTW it doesnt support DX11, only DX10 anyway).

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

You should be able to search the Gpu up and it'll give you the latest driver but unless your playing delta force or halo ce I would sell those and get maybe some prebuilt hp workstations. As AGP really can't even handle web pages now that its omega ancient my old x850 xtpe can't even play flash games lol.
