Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a sound card for my hyperX cloud 1 headset because i'm experiencing some electric noise on the microphone and some sound leakage into the microphone. This annoys me very much when I hear it from others so I would like to fix this. However, I don't know which sound card to buy. A friend of mine recommended the Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 VX, is this a good choice or am I better off with a usb sound card like the Creative Sound Blaster play? I'm looking to keep the price around 30 euros if that's possible.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Geaard stopcontact? (grounded socket)

ehm maybe. I have my psu plugged into a power strip so i would think so. Would it also cause the audio leakage when plugged in to an ungrounded socket?

EDIT: I asked, but I don't. Is this an issue or is it okay to just leave it plugged in to an ungrounded socket?

Just a thought, have you tried plugging in your headset into the rear ports or just into the front panel? The sound card on your MOBO is a decent one...

When in doubt, re-format.

Yeah it's plugged in to the rear ports, the front ports had an issue which i forgot :P So i just ended up using the ports on the back.

A pc on an ungrounded socket can have a buzzing sound bleeding from the case to the soundcard. Is it a high pitched sound, or just a buzz ?

As for the crosstalk, exactly what bleeds over? Is output sound bleeding over, or is it the same buzzing sound.

The noise is more a lower pitched sound (so i geuss it's a buzz) and it varies in how loud it is.

The crosstalk is the audio of games, youtube etc. that i hear through my headphones which also seems to leak into the microphone. It seems to only pick up the louder sounds though from what i've heard from the people listening. But I'm guessing that is because it (luckily) doesn't leak at full volume.
