Hey,

I've had this PC for about 5 months and only started having the problem of my CPU fan cutting out very recently. What happens is, the fan will stop and temperatures will rise, resulting in me turning the PC off for around 20 minutes for it to cool off. After it waits the 20 or so minutes, then fan comes back on and works fine. This has only happened about 3 times now in the past 2 weeks, but I'm not sure why.

check the bios for any fan curves or try using another fan header on your motherboard. i've had many experiences with fans not spinning at all and by just reinstalling the fan connector with the fan header on the motherboard the problem got solved

Checked the bios. I see my fan there and the speed that it was turning, but there wasn't an option to speed it up or anything. Would I replace the fan itself or the entire heatsink unit? Thanks for the reply.

replacing the heatsink wont make a difference, it's the fan that is the problem, id get a bequiet or nf-f12 for it if they are in budget
