cpu heatsinks for overclocking

will an air cooled cpu heasink be enough to cool an overclocked i7 4790k or should I go watercooled?

I would go watercooled if you have the money

Aircooled is fine, I'm using an alpenfohn brocken and I've got my 4790k running at 4.6Ghz stable at mid 70s temps. If you want a decent cheap air cooler, go for the be quiet pure rock. If you want a good midrange air cooler the be quiet dark rock 3 or noctua nh-u14s is a great choice, and the noctua nh-d15 is the perfect choice for a top end air cooler.

If you want to go watercooling, I wouldnt go less than the corsair h100i gtx, with the h110i gt and nzxt kraken x61 being the very best. outside of a custom loop.
