Any good modem replacements?

Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

so only fibre optic "modems" go that high?

As far as I know, yes. A modem converts analogue and digital signals so that data from PCs can be sent on phone lines.

So I have a doscis 3 modem supplied by my isp (it's a generik one). It has a telephone input next to the coax input since we have a landline phone. Now my question is if I could get a new modem with or without the telephone input (rj11 I believe). If not, is it possible to just run the phone from the old modem? All I need is a gigabit ethernet modem since I'll be hooking up routers to it.

As far as I know, Gigabit modems don't exist, as if you have a gigabit connection, you're not converting from analogue to digital, so there is no need for one.

Modems go up to around 350Mbps I think, which is DOCSIS 3.0. If you're wanting gigabit connections on the LAN, then all you'd need is to hook up some Gigabit switches (or router/switch combos, which most routers are now)
