A new wireless router/ AP

Hey folks!

I was considering getting my own wireless router/AP because the ISP provided one is just not doing its job with the signal very unreliable. So I was wondering if you guys would help me out a bit and help me choose which router would be best suited for me? My house is two floors and it would have to be set up on the first floor (since that's where the modem is). Also a sub $100 would be greatly appreciated.
