Hey everyone,

I have upgraded to windows 10 on my main laptop Dell Inspiron N4050, and my speakers are not working. I have :

Updated the audio software/driver.

Checked all the settings for a mute or something.

Reinstalled the IDT controls directly form the resource CD. a.k.a Downgraded the driver.

Restarted the windows audio service.

My headphones are working for google chrome and youtube videos.

If I plug out the headphones there is no sound.

When pluged in, the headphones don't play sounds from any offline app. Like minecraft ,  song players ect.

I went into the audio settings and clicked the test audio button, it always says "Failed to play the test sound".

The volume mixer shows System sounds and google chrome opened under the headphones list. (See the picture.)

I am able to listen to youtube using the headphones but nothing else, the windows sounds seem to have a lot of latency but I do hear them.

I have not been able to make it work so I have turned up to the most useful computer forums in the world.

Please reply, Thanks.
