Multiple disks - power plan

Go to solution Solved by creativemagic,

Setting it to Never will keep all disks running.

Setting it to ( for example ) 10 minutes will sleep/turn off all other disks besides the OS drive. ( since it's always being used, it won't turn off.)

That being said, the option controls all Hard disks (and SSD's)

In my system I have 1 SSD for the OS and 1 HDD for stuff, and have it set to turn off after 10 minutes, the SSD stays running, but the HDD turns off.

Hi there!

I have 2 samsung ssd's and 1 hdd attached to my computer. The os is on one of the ssd's and the other 2 disks are just partitioned in disk management to be used for other stuff.

What I would like to know, will putting this setting to "Never" disable auto shutdown for all 3 disks or just for the one that os is installed on?

I would not like to have the other ssd and the hdd shutdown after a while, I would like to keep all 3 disks ON.

There's also not really anything to "turn off" or worry about with a SSD, since it has no moving parts that need rest.
