Trouble with overclocking

Hello, this is my first post on the forum, I've had my rig since January built with the help from Linus' videos but i'm struggling to overclock, in the bios it gives me the option to see the cpu ratio but not actually change it not sure if there is something wrong but i'm fairly sure that it should allow me to change this.

PC Specs:

Motherboard: MSI z87M Gaming

CPU: Intel i5 4690k

GPU MSI gtx 970

RAM: Hyper X fury  16gb 1600mhz
Cooling: Corsair H100I

While I don't have that mobo it has the same MSI BIOS on it. Press the + and - keys on your keyboard to modify values such as CPU ratio and voltage. This confused me for a while as well.

I tried this when i first saw it in the bios options but this did not work so i was looking for another reason

Sometimes my main keyboard wouldn't even work, I ended up plugging in my (please don't kill me) 2008 iMac keyboard and it worked. Try another keyboard lying around and see if that helps.
