First and foremost I know there are a million threads on this topic but all the other OP's had different preferences when it came to buying a laptop (Price,Country,size...etc) so I thought I would make a new thread.

Alright I need a laptop for College it will be mainly used for browsing and school work / the occasional gaming session (This is not a priority)

Specifications:

1.Has to be under $1000 CAD including tax and all other costs

2.Preferably 13-14 inches

3.Lightweight

4.Good battery life

Thanks!

i would get one with a quad core intel cpu and at least 8gb of ram with an ssd and at least 1tb of storage. i prefer to test my notebooks out in store before buying anything because i find that most have shit build quality and bad keyboards.

sorry i can't really help much other than this because i've been out of the laptop game for awhile

Yeah thats a good tip though, I'll definitely head to a local store and try a few out before I purchase anything

it really makes a big difference when you do this. you get a much better sense of what feels good. specs are fine to look at, but if the screen sucks and the keyboard feels like shit, then what's the point?

Exactly, don't to go through the pain of ordering something online and then having to return it
