all you need to do is remove the cooler and yes you will need new thermal paste.

no, its a little lever.

You need to make sure your current CPU will work in the new motherboard.

 

And it's easy to remove the CPU, just lift the lever and the CPU will come loose. Be careful not to touch/bend any pins on the CPU or Motherboard though.

Nah, it can be a little awkward but it's not fixed in place. As soon as you lift the retention arm the CPU comes loose, just depends on if you have fat fingers like me :P
