Swap cpu from mb

Hello,

I'm hopefully goign to upgrade my pc this summer, and i was wondering if it is hard to take my cpu out of my current mb to place it into my new mb

Also do i need to buy thermal paste and reapply it to my cpu after the swap?

all you need to do is remove the cooler and yes you will need new thermal paste.

no, its a little lever.

Super easy... just lift the retention arm and lift it out. As long as you dont touch the pins or pads youll be fine

You need to make sure your current CPU will work in the new motherboard.

 

And it's easy to remove the CPU, just lift the lever and the CPU will come loose. Be careful not to touch/bend any pins on the CPU or Motherboard though.

Yea, i was just worried it was gonna be hard tobget a grip on it, sockets correct lga 1150

Nah, it can be a little awkward but it's not fixed in place. As soon as you lift the retention arm the CPU comes loose, just depends on if you have fat fingers like me
