Need Help With Multiple Network On Modem/Router

So I bought a wifi card for my computer I just recently finished building (till now I've been using a dongle) and its a dual band with support for 2.4G and 5G speeds. Its really slow at the 2.4 speed so I wanted to configure my modem and router to make a 5G speed network. The problem is it can only run one network at a time and there are other users on this connection with support for only the 2.4G. Is there any workaround that will enable my modem and router to be capable of multiple networks, or perhaps an external accessory I could use? Or do I need to get a new modem/router to run at 5G?

 

Modem/Router: Motorola SURFboard SBG6580 Dual Band 2.4GHz/5.0GHz

Wifi Card: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Dual Band 2.4GHz/5.0GHz 900MBps (450 per band)

Your router can run two networks. One on the 2.4GHz band, and one on the 5GHz band. There shouldn't be anything except perhaps software that's preventing you from doing this.

What do you mean by 2.4g? Are you saying 2.4Ghz or 2.4Ghz wireless g standard?

Yes I mean Ghz.

For some reason when I log into it online it says I can only have one network active at a time, but there are two options. So its one or the other not both.
