4690k overclocking...

I had a 4.4ghz oc on my CPU at 1.27v , once I set my voltage to 1.24v it blue screen on 1 at min of stress test. So I increased the ring ratio to 4.1 and the stress test went for 30mins. I'm just all confused on overclocking this thing, every guide says different things. I was hoping maybe you guys can help.....
