Open air headphones

Hello guys,

 

I am not an audiophile, but i want to buy a pair of open air headphones. I want them to be very comfortable and i dont have a price range, but because i am not an audiophile and i wont use them on their full potential, i want something cheap, or way cheaper than hd598.

My ATH-M50s are starting to lose their padding and those TAD400s look comfy but I don't think they would do well for my needs

I think the Philips SHP9500 are the obvious choice here.

I use Sennheiser HD558 and I would recommend them.

 

I also had ATH AD500x headpones and they sounded good as well, but I kept the HD558 over these because I found the latter more comfortable on my head. Though at $80 now that's not too bad at all.

@ thank you for your recomandation, those are more cheap that i imagined, but they are good ? I mean, they are worth the price or should i choose something a bit higher.

 

@SSL Those Philips are not available in my country

 

@Badly Browned HD558 sounds very good, but they are very close to HD598 in price range.

 

There is something between HD558 and the headphones @ recomended ? I mean, HD558 is a bit to expensive and those are a bit to cheap.

Well, if you're looking at Sennheiser there's the HD518 headphones, I don't have personal experience with them but I've read they are good as well. From what I understand, the main difference is that the 518s have a more bassy sound signature compared to the higher end models.
