I thought maybe someone is interested in a user scrap yard wars challenge.

The challenge is to build a Testbench for ATX, mATX and ITX Mainboards.

 

Rules:

Price for parts not over $40 / 51 CDN / 36 Euros

You can use parts you have if you add their value to your check.

It need to fit ATX mATX and ITX Mainboards, 3 * 3.5" HDD's, ATX Powersupply.

It need a mount for graphics card.

You need to take a photo or video of every step you build it and post it in the thread.

 

Judgment:

Nice looking: max. 5 Points

Good functionality: max. 5 Points

Hotswap for drives: max. 3 Points

max. 13 Points Total

 

The Challenge is starting at July 17, 2015 10:00 (UTC+1) and ending at July 18, 2015 18:00 (UTC+1)

I will then look in the Thread and pick the winner.

$40 USD? That's really not enough. If you wanna do one of these it should be at least like $200... And you need a way to keep it honest.

Or are you talking about making a case?

Im talking about DIY making a testbench and its possible.

A motherboard box with some strong plastic sticks stuck to the side of the box to hold the GPU steady :P Isn't that what Linus always recommends as a DIY test bench minus the sticks but they could help lol
