New Build Advice

So here's my build: 

 

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  

Motherboard: ASRock Z97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  

Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  

Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card  

Case: NZXT Phantom 530 (White) ATX Full Tower Case  

Power Supply: XFX 550W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

The original plan was the GTX 970 Gaming G1, but I changed it, just today, to the 390. The monitor at the moment is 1080p, but it is going up to a 1440p monitor soon. What do you guys think? The SSD and other stuff is coming later, with the monitor, so what do you guys think about the at the moment?

Solid build. R9 390 is better than the GTX 970, ESPECIALLY at higher than 1080p resolutions.I HATE that case's looks, but, that is just my opinion.

Thanks for the information about the GPUs! Do you have another case in mind around a similar pricepoint or less that you do like the look of? Just out of curiosity! I do realize the 530 is more of a love it or hate it kinda thing.

I like Fractal products and their aesthetics. I can definitely recommend the Define R5 which comes at 100 bucks and the Define S if you're into watercooling (which comes at 70 bucks).

you needed a cpu cooler, especially if you're going to oc the cpu. don't bother getting a monitor under 144 hertz and above 1ms. you need a 144 hertz, 1ms monitor at the minimum or your system is a waste. also, you needed a bigger psu. 750w minimum with the 390.
