Alright so I recently built a new computer and I've never overclocked anything before. I'm hoping I can get some help getting this done.

Here is my build, the only thing different is I got an MSI 980 ti instead of the reference card.

Using Intel extreme tuning utility program, I changed my CPU's voltage to 1.3v and the speed to 4.5Ghz and it was stable. However after restarting my computer it would revert back to stock voltage and speed. It reset multiple times for some reason. I tried to overclock directly from my bios but in my bios menu almost every option including all the cpu overclock options are greyed out and I can't change them. I can't find any way to let me change them. Here's a link that shows what my motherboards BIOS looks like: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/X99S_GAMING_7/8.html

So Yeah I can't seem to overclock my cpu because of those two problems, and I also have no idea how to overclock my GPU and what program(s) I need to do so. If someone could help walk me through this I'd be very grateful. Thanks.

edit: also my gpu seems to be under-performing in TF2. I am dropping below 120 fps, even while running a max frames config. However in dying light with everything on ultra I was getting 160 average fps. I don't see how I could be getting lower fps in tf2 than in dying light unless my GPU is gimping itself somehow or running lower than it should because of some setting I don't know about.

There's an entire thread on overclocking on the forums, a quick search would tell you that.

Second, overclock in the BIOS or not at all, programs to do it in windows are absolutely junk.
