Raid 0 and Raid 1

Go to solution Solved by Agazed,

They can be different speeds, but capacity should be the same or else you can only use the capacity of the smallest SSD in the raid.

Is it possible to Raid 0 or Raid 1 ssd's of different rated speed or do all raided drives need to be of the same rated speed??

Thank you in advance!!!

Hey there,

Basically you can put any two or more storage drives into a RAID array. It will automatically limit the speeds of all drives to the one of the slowest and the capacity of all drives to the one with the smallest.
I would proceed with caution when putting different drives in the same RAID array because the more differences they have, the bigger the chance of a drive dropout and data corruption. I would definitely make a backup on another drive of the RAID array.
