how much does the motherboard make a difference?

 

Lets say this:

 

Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0 socket am3+

 

Compared to this:

 

ASUS M5A87 AM3+ ATX

There won't be any performance per say, but both are good boards, buy what suits the rest of your system.

Mobo wont effect performance, unless you are overcloking like crazy.

I'd imagine that the Sabertooth board may be made to a slightly higher standard than the more mainstream boards.
