Microphone buzzing particularly during gameplay

My friends have been complaining recently about my headset making buzzing noises over skype.

 

This has only happened recently and appears to have started after I installed a new graphics card into my system (Nvidia Geforce GTX 750Ti). We've also noticed that it tends to intensify when playing games on a relatively high framerate usually over 80 fps and either stops or quiets at around 30 fps and below.

 

Our current theory is the graphics card that I installed recently is interfering with something, although we could be wrong. One thing to also note is that I don't have an audio card installed in my system. My headphones are TurtleBeaches X12's (connected through the 3.5mm and USB ports).

could just be that the headset is dying, I use to own those a few years ago and they started to make a buzz for others in a call, they died a few weeks later. So I'd look into buying a new headset before its too late. (the gpu causing the buzz seems highly unlikely and is possible its just a coincidence)
