New Rig, OS installation fail. "whea_uncorrectable_error"

Hey guys

 

So i just setup a new rig.

 

i5 4690k 

Asus z97-a

8gb ddr3 hyperx

gtx 970

samsung evo 850 250gb ssd

 

I have been trying to install an OS.. i tried with win 10 preview first, failed.. then i tried win 8.1 and i got the error i just said while installing. 

 

I am unable to understand how a new formatted partition can give this error and how i can fix it.

 

Please help.

I ran into that as a bluescreen when I was overclocking. Are you starting at stock I assume? The CPU is seated well?

Same thing happened to me. Could the CPU be DOA?

if cpu was dead i dont think i would even get to installation

yep all stock settings

i am trying to install windows 7 right now... so far at 54% ... hopefully this works out..

 

i dont really understand how i am getting this issue... everything seems to work ok in bios lol... is there any tool to perform an hardware check to see if everything with all hardware plugged in is ok ? I thought there is something at the bios level.

well windows 7 installed just fine... not sure what was causing the problem with 8

Could always try booting off a Linux disc that doesn't need to be installed.

 

I just saw you got W7 working. Now you should try stability checks and so on.

i was able to install w8.1 finally... i think i'll stick to that for now till everything is ok
