4K VS 5K

This is basically kind of a general question, when can 5K monitors/displays be expected to come out like from high end display companies like ASUS, Acer, and BenQ? 5K is absolutely amazing compared to 4K, not to say 4K is bad but because of how much more 5K is of an amazing massive improvement over 4K, is it hard to produce? Have high end companies that produce displays just said 4K is enough for now? Are they working on it? Are they not doing because it's harder to drive graphics wise? Is it because of the GPU driving not being there yet or something? This is all very new to me so I don't really understand. Should I wait for 5K to really come out or just go for a 4K display?

5k isn't as big of a leap as 1080p is to 4k.

agreed 1080 to 4k is x4 the numbers of pixels.

The problem with 5k starts when you play non native resolution content on it.

Say you have a 5k /4K monitor and your friend has a 1080p monitor made by same company with the same panel type .So when you watch 1080p content (Which is what is mostly available) with that 4k monitor there is a good chance that the 1080p content will look inferior when comparing it with your friend's monitor since it is running at it's native res. You monitor will have to upscale the content and the result might not be very good.

If you have enough horsepower to push 4k games then you can consider it ,also 4k blu-rays will be comming out this year.

So 4K is just the main thing now 5K is just harder to drive because of a scaling/native issue then?

No i didn't say 5k will have scaling issues just saying that it might be pointless if you don't have content for it.

And that story i mentioned earlier about you having a 5k monitor and your friend having a 1080p display .I had a similar experience like that ,my friend has a a little less than 720p res monitor and i have a 1080p IPS screen but when i compared a 800MB 720p movie with both monitors it looked better on my friend's 720p monitor.

I did some research and found that this problem is because monitors don't have good scalars /  Upscaling engines like Sony Exmor PRO ,LG triple xD engine which do a good job upscaling content and removing noise compared to monitors so watching 1080p on a 4k TV does make some sense

Sorry if i went off topic
