ok so here is what i have going on.

cpu=5820k not o/c with a coller master evo on it

gpu=r9 295x2 not o/c

mobo= asus x99-a

psu= corsair rm1000

ram=16gb ddr4 crucial ballistix

ssd=250 gb samsung

hhd= 1tb wd green

and the problem is that my pc keeps crashing on me and sometimes it will tell me my overclock failed even though i have not done one and sometimes it will just freeze and make a fast dinging or glitching noise and i will have to hold the power button to turn it off. also i know this should be a good build but something is not right while playing games on it i will get low fps no matter what settings the game is on even skyrim the best i can get is 61 fps but i will get that no matter what the game settings are on. the game will freeze and glitch really bad and my laptop that i bought for 100 bucks plays games better... please help

I don't want to overclock this rig till I have the money to get a better cooler for the cpu. I'm just trying to find out why its not running very well now at stock even though this should be a beast of a pc.

Giving it .05 more on the voltage wont harm anything, what are your temps under load currently?

RAM set to XMP profile one?

okay so i just did the easy tuner to do a quick o/c. I can't find where to up the voltage everywhere that says voltage is shaded out, to where i can not change it for some reason. also ram was not set to profile one. as far as pc temps under load i have not been able to get in under load as of yet with out it crashing for no reason.

Great, problem solved.

Not quite....

OP: Reset the BIOS to default settings and see if it crashes. If you have to overvolt the CPU in order to get it stable, something is wrong.

As for the performance, make sure you have all the latest drivers installed.

Sounds kinda like a 9590 to me.. as long as it runs within temps seems ok to me but good ideas.

okay I think it was bad drivers it seems to be stable now at both stock and with it overclock thanks to both of you for the help. as far as the game goes it is lock at that fps so it is not any fault of the pc itself. once again thanks

I know which cpu it is, the problem just sounded all too familiar, who know probably one every few thousand are not stable at stock.
