quick question... about 3.5mm extension cable.

Hey. I am mounting a PC setup, and i need a mic to skype, and all that stuff.

 

But my Mic cable is 1meter, and i need 2 meters.

 

So, I will buy a extension (male to female) cable. But in that item it says:

 

"Gold-plated connectors provide superior protection against corrosion

This cable allows you to connect your favorite 3.5mm earphone to some 3.5mm Mobile Phone,iPad, MP3 player or audio player device"

 

My Mic is 3.5 mm also, but this is a headphone connector, it's the same, right? 

 

 

But thats not the real question, would it be beter if I use a extension cable with 3.5mm adapter, or, just plug it into a USB adapter and use the mic via usb?

As long the number of contacts match, it should be fine.

Is anything wrong with your onboard? Do you already have the adapter?
