The Turkey[Build Log]

Hazy125

This is my old rig... This is solely to upgrade my case, and I didn't do a build log when I built this rig so I'm doing it now with a better case.

The specs for the build are in my signature line, I'm switching from the Thermaltake Armor Revo GENE to an NZXT switch 810. There are a couple of reasons for this, the main reason is that I can't fit radiators in the Revo GENE. Another reason is that the case has way too many cheaply made parts such as the feet and the weird buckle thing on the side that serves no purpose. I also can't stand the fan mesh on the side panel, I have no intention of ever using it. I plan to have everything done tonight as it is 7pm here in Australia. I have some other things to do tonight apart from the build and I'll upload all photos of the finished product when it's done...

Picture quality is courtesy of my amazing GS4

The Switch 810 is a nice case, can't wait to see the build, especially to see a Hyper 212 cool a 3770k enough to be stable at 5.1GHz!  I can't help but notice your don't have a mouse mat though.

I don't have a lot of things, also I planned to record a video with BIOS and booting into Windows because no one really believes it

It's easy enough to boot when you have enough voltage going through it but have you tested the stability of the CPU?

Prime95 cause issues after a couple of hours usually, but other than that I can run it at 5.1 constantly and even under gaming load. Oh, also, I turn it down to 4.5 for folding

I don't care about peripherals too much... And haven't we been over the case before in private messages?

I figured it's about time to finally upload some more pictures. First up on the list today is my new case and what it looks like without my stuff inside

post-17266-0-14695500-1374758083_thumb.j

Next on my list is the size comparison between the two cases... I just thought it would be interesting

post-17266-0-23615300-1374758092_thumb.j

The inside of the rig and the mess of cables...

post-17266-0-68093700-1374758109_thumb.j

My first issue. I knew this power supply would screw me in the long run, but I didn't think it would literally... The screw won's come out. The solution for me was to just tear it out

post-17266-0-69107500-1374758127_thumb.j

Finally got all the crap out of my old case

post-17266-0-43175400-1374758143_thumb.j

Everything installed in the new case, I think.... It's not a great picture but the file size was too high and I had to crop it a bit

post-17266-0-57090900-1374758162_thumb.j

A much better picture with all the wiring stuff done and I've gotten it the best that I can possibly do

post-17266-0-01472700-1374758179_thumb.j

How it looks from behind ;)

post-17266-0-60774700-1374758195_thumb.j

Through the side panel...

post-17266-0-14049000-1374758212_thumb.j

And finally, the job completed

  • 6 months later...

Is been a while. But I guess I'll update again. This isn't the final config of the loop. It will change during my next big system upgrade, so ignore the messiness for now. Also, these upgrade(bar the delid) happened ages ago, I just haven't updated in a while
