Each seller is going to have different methods. Most of the time, they will have you message them directly, and you'll tell them what key you want, and what service you'll use. With Paypal, you'll send money from your account to theirs, and they will send you a key. I don't know how legitimate it is, or how fast people respond. That isn't to say it's shady, so much as I personally don't have any experience with it.

You would simply tell them what your Paypal e-mail address is / your name on the account. (So they would see that you sent them $20, $25, or whatever the cost is.) They would then give you an e-mail address to send the funds to.

Hey guys!

So I'm trying to purchase a windows key off of reddit and the microsoftsoftwareswap, but I don't know how to with paypal

Can someone guide me as what I need to include in the message and the steps?

Its pretty safe, what I did was just contacted the seller and said what I wanted to buy, they supplied their paypal, I sent the money, told them what my paypal email was so they could verify that I paid, and they sent me the windows key.

i used venmo or squarecash for one of their methods. you just put your card in. i recommend buying from laynesmalley

Both of those are unprotected. Do not use those over at Reddit. There are too many scammers because unlike forums, there isn't a minimum post or rep you need to post.

Let them know your email and have them send an invoice to your paypal email. It should list the specific item you are buying and how much it costs. Then just click the link to pay. If they ask to pay by "gift" or "friends and family" just walk away. Not all of them that do that are scammers but that is unprotected and if something goes wrong you won't be able to get your money back.

Yes read my reply above. I use Google Wallet for trusted sellers too but that doesn't have as much protection as Paypal. GW has no fees though so if I know the seller or he has great rep, I don't mind using Google Wallet to get a discount.

Unprotected as in if something goes wrong in the transaction like you getting scammed, there is no way to get your money back.
