Hi,

I posted recently about the problems i have been having with my internet speeds when using my newly built computer. I use a wireless network card with antennas that stick out the back of my case and often have good connectivity, however, when all my family is on the network at once my 'ping' when playing games greatly increases (Problem 1). Secondly, it appears that sometimes after i have been using my PC for a while it still has slow connectivity even when nobody else is even in the house, could it be that my network adapter just isn't good enough and cant withstand high load? (Problem 2). And Finally, i can't plug my computer straight into my router because it is downstairs, although i realise this would be the best solution, are powerline adapters any good? (Problem 3).

Please help this is really frustrating and i can't figure out the cause of my problems to be able to fix it!

So if the cause is that too many people are on my home network at once, will powerline adapters still improve performance?

It is more likely that you hitting the limits of your Internet connection rather than exceeding the capabilities of your home network.

What are your Internet connection speeds?
