So, a friend of mine (no names, @ElectroVolt ) decided it would be a good idea to yankon my headset, a pair of creative fatal1ties. Ihave determined that the error is in the volume/mute controller because when I push the wire deeper in, sound returns to the right ear. Any ideas on how to fix? can I RMA for this?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

The wire is frayed. Replace the jack.

EDIT: Did some research... Repairing them isn't worth it. Just buy a new set.

As I said, it's not worth the money. You'd be better off buying new ones. But you can replace the jack fairly easily. You'll need a new jack (RadioShack sells some... Make sure you get the stereo ones, not the monos). You'll also need a lighter (I recommend candles), and a soldering kit.

EDIT: The lighter is only necessary for enameled wires (to burn off the enamel of course!).

EDIT: EDIT: I enjoyed your build log on your Black Recluse, by the way.

I guess it's a habit of mine to edit a post multiple times instead of just posting again.
