Xperia Z2 focus issue

Hello enigmatic members of the forums, so today I am really stressed, I just finished my exams and got an Xperia Z2 D6503 yesterday. Everything was going great, camera worked fine, later on yesterday evening I tried using the camera to take a picture of some beautiful sunset we had, the camera wouldn't focus, but I merely thought it was just the low lighting. Tried again this morning, no luck, it will do macro shots just fine, but anything else is a no go. I tried wiping everything and resetting the phone, nothing. I am so stressed out right now and have no idea as what to do, I have read up that it could be a hardware issue which really is sickening considering I could be weeks without a phone... Oh well, if anyone can please help it would be greatly appreciated!
