The Xeon is another option if you don't plan on overclocking. It has hyper threading so it will perform similar to an i7.

If you want to overclock then you can switch back to the i5 4690K as it will handle the occasional bit of rendering.

That 970 is the mini-itx version  B)

Damnit...

Yea, as said above.. you can trim stuff off here and there easily enough.

If not overclocking, the Xeon is the way to go, if overclocking the i5 is plenty capable.. I know people that use much worse systems for rendering while doing a degree in media production. Same goes for the ram.

I would suggest possibly a better monitor but thats totally user preference. A decent IPS goes a long way BUT most of the cheaper ones will suffer from motion blur in faster games. Better in pretty much every other situation though.

All just food for thought.

Ohh and unless you burn or consume medi from disks still (I know VERY FEW people who do) drop the drive and think about a Fractal Design Define S.. Bit cheaper, similar style. But no 5.25" drive bays

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Quote or @dzzope to get my attention..
