I would say 2010 with the introduction of DX11. Plus my gtx 470 still gives me decent performance. I can run far cry 3 blood dragon @ ultra settings @ 1080p but no AA

what ? gtx 260 gtx 280 gtx 275 gtx 285 gtx 295 were rebrands?that was the biggest performance boost from a generation to another. the 9000 series was a rebrand. the top card 9800gt was exactly 8800 gt. lower cards maybe, but all series have that.

basically the same thing they did this year with the 700 series, only this time It's worse since only the 780 is new (the 200 series had more new cards), and not even that is new, it's a nerfed Titan, still a great card tho'.

Back in my day we only had Direct X 9 and 8800GT and we liked it :P

and we still do :)

what I said up there: http://www.techpowerup.com/80181/g92-based-geforce-9-series-products-to-be-renamed-geforce-gts-200-series.html

not to say nvidia has bad chips, au contraire - they're that good (I'm still a bit of an nvidia fan, but I've been known to change camps often, depending who has a better platform at the moment) but I never liked that strategy, it's insulting to the buyer, expecially one who knows what he's buying. And no, ATI is not known for rebranding it's cards, at least not so frequent as nvidia does.

gtx200 wasnt rebrand. like i stated, maybe lower end cards, but not from gtx 260 . but all series have that man. i talk about gtx 2xx not gts or gt.so you are wrong.it was the best series

we'll just have to agree do disagree about which series was the best then... no hard feelings :)

the 8800 rocked back in my day, as did the 7600 before it.
