Hey everyone,

Um my HTPC isn't posting, after installing a MSI Frozr HD 7870 and replacing the CPU with an Athlon II X4 750K. No video is appearing when I connect it to the screen via a HDMI cable.

Could anyone give me some advice on how to fix it? Lights and the fans on the GPUs are on same with the CPU fan.

Sorry the PC managed to boot but I'm having issues with the GPU I think. The HTPC seems to have issues playing games and seems to randomly lose connection to the display, I think this may be caused by the lack of power to the GPU rather than the connection itself. Any ideas?

It's definitely something wrong with the GPU... I tried running Furmark and the screen went blank after a second starting it up. Could it be that the PSU isn't strong enough to handle the GPU? There weren't two PCI-E power cords available, and I had to use one of those Molex to 6pin converter for one of the GPU power connectors.

Go get a 550W PSU

Okay. So the 650W PSU is now installed but it still has the same issues. Should I try reinstalling the OS?

yes, that might work

Make sure the power connectors are properly in, the GPU properly seated in the PCI slot and the HDMI cable itself is not broken or not in properly.
