i would suggest just turning down recording volume maybe till you can't hear stuff in the background but you can hear yourself if that doesn't help maybe a pop filter in the near future if you don't already have one.

You can try adobe audition ( What I use) or you can buy a boomstand and a shock mount to take it off your desk. Other than that nothing much.

(Edit) Forgot to add you can buy rubber O-rings for you keyboard to soften the sound, but I think becuse your useing blues it will still be loud.

cherry blues are hard to silence.

if you go watch pistol's stream, she uses a yeti and a black widow.

every click is picked up.

cherry browns would be better if the click is a concern.

just be careful with the headphone volume and the mic gain, and you shouldn't have problems with the open cans.

Will work for electronic components and parts

So say I have very loud open ear headphones (DT990s) and I have a Cherry MX Blue Keyboard. How do you keep a snowball (or any desktop mic) from picking up all that noise?

Closed headphones does a great job at blocking out noise

Does this person use a condenser microphone or a dynamic? I like MX blues a lot but I don't like the feel of o-rings.

Who told you to use o-rings on blues? lol

They don't even silence the Blues, and aren't the solution to the OP's problem.

And the Snowball is a condenser mic btw

Don't want to sound noob and all but what's the difference between a condenser and a dynamic mic?

No. I have o-rings on my g710+ which are browns but i don't enjoy the feel of them at all.

I'm not an expert but condensers are usually used for vocal recording or podcasting but they pick up a lot of stuff in the background much like keyboards, fans, etc.

Oh lol, sorry just the way you worded it, I assumed you were using MX blues with o-rings.

Yea I agree.. I had the g710+ and also didn't like how the o-rings felt either and ended up taking them off.

LOL. I ended up picking up a QFR also and returned the G710+.

I still prefer Brown switches over the Blues on this QFR though, hopefully I can find someone who is willing to trade :D

I really like blues for some reason. I bought the maxkeyboards.com sampler pack to try blacks because they were the only ones i haven't tired yet besides white/green/clear.
