Need to set Apache homepage

Hello, i was wondering how to configure the homepage in Apache web server...
i followed

but his is different.
If i got to index.html it's blank. 
How can i fix this? Thanks!

Also, how do i put files (like videos or pictures) on my server? thanks

the webserver's default home directory is /var/www. you can edit the index file that you find in there, as well as add all the content you wish

Run the following:

 

grep DocumentRoot /etc/apache2/*

 

one of those will be where your files are located. Probably /var/www/html, /var/www/, or /usr/share/apache/
