is the g502 mac compatible? i know that you can use the right and left clicks. but can you reprogram the button and calibrate it to a surface like you can on windows?

It looks like no, unless you want to run windows on your mac.  The Logitech Gaming Software is only compatible with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.1 at the moment.
