I'm a bit stuck on a problem here. I was wondering if someone can shed some lights. So I am trying to swap my PSU from Corsair CX600M to Silverstone ST75F-GS but it's not booting up. So I removed everything else except the 24pins and the additional 8pins for the motherboard then pressed the power button, the Mobo fans spins. Put the RAMs back in and it works as well (i.e. motherboard turns on and mobo fans spins. If i start plugging in IDE / SATA it will try to power the Mobo but then stops, tried alternating to see if it's the IDE or the SATA but both shows the same result. Also tried to remove the RAMs in place to try the IDE/SATA it gives the same result.

So, can a PSU be partially broken or is there something else I completely missed?

Components :

i5 - 4440

MSI Z87 G45

2 HDD 1 SSD

1 Optical Drive

H80i AIO

Edit : Maybe should've been in troubleshooting section, my bad.

Have you tried using a different sata power cable or a different port on the psu?

If the old psu works there is something wrong with your unit and you should just send it back though.

Third time's the charm I guess. I initially tried using different slots and cables on the new PSU but nothing happened. Gave it a rest for a bit and tried again, seems to be working now. Will see if it will stabilises.
