So this is kind of an interesting thing, but what I have access to is very unique. Since cards when folding don't run in SLI, you could stick another card in right? Here is where I am at:

I have a 980 for my workstation, and a 780 from another computer that no longer works. I was wondering if I can add in that 780 for extra compute performance for Folding@Home, since it doesn't require SLI. It just runs those cards without bridging and combining the GPU's. Is it possible?

Thanks!

Edit: Cant test if the 780 works, its in downtown Austin. Far away :(

Well that's good news. Love to try to get any graphics card I can find and just shove it in.
