Laptop/Tablet for University

I'm starting Uni soon and I have it narrowed down between the Acer Aspire S7 vs the Surface. And I can't decide which. And if I were to go with the Surface then should I get the Pro or the RT? And I do have a beefy desktop.

I think you'll get a much better value by getting the Aspire, since you get a laptop with tablet-like functionality (if you like). And if you don't have another computer like a desktop or something, you should definitely go with that.

If you wanted the Surface then, i'd say go with the PRO so you can install regular windows programs you might need for school

i'm getting an android tab for university  :unsure:  well atleast i can connect a keyboard and mouse to it and even output video to whatever i need to output to and 4k functionality whenever i need it. (sorry a little stoked for whenever it arrives). i would recommend the laptop but if you can use the tablet to do everything  then no problem get that

Hey I was looking into android tabs too, and I thought maybe the OneNote for Android would suffice. Do you know if the Android version of that is any good for note taking during class? Or do you know any good apps for that sort of thing?

the samsung galaxy note 10.1 has a wacom digitizer built in so that one would be the best at note taking and even doing complex drawings.
