So, with the 700 series released, how do you guys think the 800 series with a new architecture will compare? Furthermore. With AMD delaying their 8000 series and 9000 series. How do you think they will be able to compete?

Another "simple" topic. Fire away! :D

Everyone have a cool signature. I don't, so I thought I would write something.

- Cool right?

The 8000 series cards were not delayed. They were OEM. This has been repeated so many times. 8000 series cards are OEM.

Ohh yeah, that's right. Keep forgetting that. Anyways. When looking at the release pattern from their earlier generations, you could call it a delay in terms of keeping up with the competition (nvidia).

So do you think that AMD will "fall behind" ? Or will the next gens match up anyways?

NVIDIA is behind by a generation in terms of performance. Their 600 series cards were starting to lose when AMD started making their drivers much better. With that in mind, NVIDIA may have to effectively jump two generations in order to continue competing with AMD.

When you say nVidia is behind a generation. They are certainly the ones having the crown right now where AMD is yet to release a series that can compete. To take an example the 780 smokes the 7970 atm. (I'n ALMOST any bench)

Also it seems nVidia brings a much more "brought together" experience, an "All in one" experience where AMD seems to be lacking aswell. That's from my perspective anyways.

7970 will be last generation relatively soon. NVIDIA had to release another generation so they could beat AMD's soon-to-be last generation cards.

Well that's how competition works. But when AMD will be releasing the 8000 series. It proberly wont even be half a year before nvidia is out with the 800 series. Where in the past AMD and NVidia has been very close to performance. It seems now that they are setting apart now.
