Any way to stop Seagate's Barracuda green drive from turning off?

its__Michael

Hi guys, i have a 2TB Seagate Barracuda Green Drive and when ever its not used in a while it will turn off to save power, so does my other 500gb drive that has no label on it since i got it from a friend. I "THINK" the 500gb one is a western digital? But if any one knows how to disable the green function on the drive(s). Please reply.

Edit: Oops forgot the Model Number,

Thanks,

-Michael

Sorry man, you can't simply turn the feature off, however you can prevent your drive from spinning down from inactivity by moving your SWAP partition to that drive. Hope this helps.

Are you sure windows isn't turning it off?

Windows shuts off hard drives after 20 minutes by default

By "turn off" i guess you mean spin down? you can set hard drive spin down times in power options in the control panel.
