I'm currently planning on upgrading my monitor situation for my workstation/gaming rig and I need some info on running more than 4 displays in my rig.

My specs are:

Asus X99-E WS

Intel Core i7 5820k @4.4GHz

Dual SLI EVGA GTX 980

48GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance

I know that the GTX 980 supports 4 displays per card but how do I run 5 displays in my system?

My current displays are: a Crossover 27" 1440p IPS as the main display for gaming, an Asus 23" 1080p IPS and an HP 24" 1200p IPS as my auxiliary displays.

Since the Acer XB270HU IPS G-Sync panel came out I'm saving up for one to make it my main display for gaming and I want to add another Crossover 27" 1440p to my setup so I have the G-Sync panel in center and a Crossover 27" on each side of the main display and have my 2 other displays on top of the triple display setup. I'm not going to be doing Nvidia Surround since that doesn't interest me since I'd much rather have one display for gaming at higher fps while having other monitors as auxiliary displays.

So my main question is: is it possible to have just the G-Sync panel be SLI accelerated and the other displays become my auxiliary displays and span the connections for the other monitors across both 980s?
