So right now I have an i5 3570k and am going to get another 970, but my mobo doesn't support SLI and no one makes z77 motherboards anymore (at least I can't find anyone).

So should I upgrade to an 4690k and get a motherboard that supports this chip?

Or should I look at buying a second hand z77 mobo off of eBay?

Thanks for your time :)

I'm pretty sure you could get a Z87 or Z97 motherboard and it will work with the 3570k. they only add potential features that the chip can't take advantage of, and it's all the same socket.
